Welcome Tilly and Nick
Hi everyone. I just wanted to say a big thank you for the friendly welcome you have given me in my first week as a new personal trainer and sports massage therapist here.   I am Premier trained and am looking forward to helping you achieve your goals.  I have a great passion for helping people and sharing my knowledge.

A little bit about me: growing up I traveled over Europe, trying new things, meeting new people, and learning about different cultures. I have always been involved in different sports, but acting is also a great interest of mine that I did take this to a more professional level. I love going to the theatre, so if you know of any around the area then please let me know!

I decided that health and fitness was the career I wanted to pursue so getting work experience with personal trainer to Formula 1 racers was a fantastic opportunity. On completion of the Premier course I went straight into personal training. Unfortunately it was too far for me travel everyday, and so that brings us to current day of me working at Focus on Fitness. I’m sure that we will all share enjoyable and challenging times together. I hope to meet you all soon
Tilly x

Hi everyone. Just a quick note to introduce myself to everyone at Focus on Fitness and a thank you for such a warm welcome. So here goes: my name is Nick and I am your newest staff member, working as a personal trainer and sports therapist.

I have been in the industry for five years, studying three years for my degree in sport rehabilitation and have spent the last two years working in a gym as a therapist and gym instructor in Trowbridge. During my training I was lucky enough to work with some top class athletes at Bath Rugby and Crawley Town FC aiding with rehabilitation and player conditioning.

So, as you can tell, I have a passion for health and fitness and currently play rugby for Trowbridge RFC. I am a keen snowboarder and have recently taken up kickboxing.

I have now been given the opportunity to work here, as I needed a change and a challenge to further my career and Focus on Fitness is the place. I look forward to meeting and working with everyone and I’m sure we will have lots of enjoyable times together.

Many thanks, Nick.

PS. Sorry I missed the Hog Roast, I’m gutted!

Hog Roast

Pictures of the successful 10-year anniversary event will be up on the members’ notice board very soon.  Thank you to all who attended the evening and a bigger thank you to all who were involved in making the event go smoothly.

Members of the month
Craig Beaven – well done Craig for great improvements across the board during his recent re-assessment. Craig has achieved these results in just two months.
Tracey Osbourne – great results achieved during her recent re-assessment especially flexibility, which improved from being below average to good.  Tracey has been taking part in Pilates and Yoga chi as well as gym circuits and tone and stretch to get these results

Members in focus
Well done to Robert Maclachlan for his cheery attitude during Friday gym circuits.
Well done to Angela Ellis for improving her resting heart rate (heart strength) from average to good during her re-assessment in August.

Well done to Aileen Bates and Jaqui Ikin for taking part in the Westonbirt 5km run.

Well done to our very own bowls champion Anne Roberts-Phare.  Anne recently competed in the champion of champions bowls tournament; although not making it to the top this time, we are sure Anne will make it next year.

Ronnie’s departure
Most of you will now be aware that Ronnie is no longer part of the team.  Following her short time as a trainer Ronnie has decided that it was not working as she had hoped.  We - Andy, Paul and I - are extremely disappointed that she has taken this decision. We sincerely wish Ronnie well in all she does.

New members for August
We would like to welcome our new members for the month of August.  They are Elaine Godley and Keith Player; we also welcome the return of some past members who have rejoined the club, namely Nathan Ind, Viv Read and Jessica Puddy. Welcome back!  We very much hope that we can help you all towards your health and fitness goals.
Get well soon
New member Elaine Godley will be out of action for a little while recovering from a foot operation we look forward to seeing you again and helping you rehabilitate.
