Running Routes

The routes below are perfect opportunities to take advantage of any fine weather for both walking & running. If you have any questions or queries about any of the routes or you have any of your own routes you would like added please contact Andy.

“The Flying Filands”                   Approx:2.8 miles      

Head for Somerfield and continue up Tetbury Hill towards Dyson. Turn right onto Filands and continue along the fast straight road to the T-junction. Turn right towards the BP garage. Follow the road down and up the hill, past the Duke of York pub and into the town center. Go past Amanda’s café to the Cross-Hayes. Follow road around past The Old Bell to the Triangle, Turn right and head for home.

“Show me the light”                            Approx: 2 miles 

Run/Walk out to White Lion Park on to the Bristol Road. Turn left towards the New School and head straight back into town. Left at the triangle down Gloucester Road and home.

“Beautiful Brokie”                                Approx: 3.8 miles

Head out towards White Lion Park up Bristol Road. Turn right heading towards Nurdens. Follow road along the river towards a T-junction. Turn right and head up the hill. Follow road through Brokenbrough until you meet the main Tetbury to Malmesbury road. Turn right and follow the main road until you get to Filands School. Turn right past Dyson’s and down Tetbury Hill, go past Somerfield and home.

“Fosseway 5”                                   Approx: 5.2 miles 

Follow the normal Brokenbrough run until you go past the Rose & Crown pub. As you go past the church turn left down the hill. Follow along that road until you join up with the Fosseway. Turn left onto the Fosseway and follow it along until you join onto the main road. Turn left and head along the road up a slight hill where you meet a T-junction, turn left along the main road. Turn left again at the first turning left heading towards Brokenbrough. Turn right at crossroads towards Malmesbury (Nurdens) and join the Bristol Road and back home.

“The Fast Foxley Trail”                Approx: 10 miles       

Head up to the triangle. At the triangle turn right towards the new school. Turn left at Foxley Road. Follow the road along until you come to the Easton Grey sign and turning. Turn right into Easton Grey, follow road along until you come to a hill. At the top of the hill go straight across the crossroads and follow road to Shipton Moyne. Go through and follow main road along. Turn left down the Fosseway and into Brokenbrough. Go through Brokenbrough and then home.

“The Foxley Trail”                                Approx: 13 miles

Arrive in Foxley village turn left towards Norton through to Easton Grey at top of hill turn left at crossroads along Sherston Rd. Turn right towards Westonbirt , at triangle junction turn right towards Shipton Moyne. Go past Cat and cCustard Pot pub on right and follow main road back to Fosseway going straight on at the junction carrying on to re-join on the Sherston road.  Carry on towards the Malmesbury sign post, past Nurdens (on right). And that’s puts you on the Bristol Road turning left at the triangle towards home.

“Charlton Challenge                    Approx: 7 miles       

Head for Somerfield and continue up Tetbury Hill towards Dyson. Turn right onto Filands and continue along the fast straight road to the T-junction. Turn left towards Cirencester. Pass the stone walled estate on the right hand side and take the first turning to the right heading towards Charlton. You will have done 3 miles at this point. Continue on the minor road for a mile or so into Charlton. At the T-junction turn right and follow the road back to the roundabout (BP garage). Cross the road and follow the road down the hill to the Duke of York pub and into the town center. Follow the road past the Old Bell to the triangle. Turn right for home.

 

“River Run”                                       Approx: 3 miles 

From the gym, cross the iron-bridge and turn right towards the town center. Don’t go up the steps but keep straight along the footpath by the river towards the Duke of York. Turn right up the hill into the town. Keeping to the car park to your right, keep straight along the road past the Med restaurant and head down the steps. Turn right to the T-junction and left across the bridge by the park. Cross the river and go through the small gate and run along the track and field(s). Eventually the path meets the road. Turn right up the hill and back towards the triangle. Turn left back to the gym.

 

“Keep on running!”                     Approx: 20 miles        

Go towards the Triangle take the turning to the left going towards Foxley Village turning off towards Norton at crossroads.  Take a left towards Hullavington going under the bridge towards the crossroads and turn right.  Carry on taking the 2nd right going down a narrow lane at the t-junction turning left then right then right again taking the left on the road fork then right , then follow the road back home.
